GIANNOULI MARIA
() DIRECTORAfter completing her studies in philosophy and film-tv directing, Maria Giannouli began her career in 1996 as an AD in movies and tv series. Since 2010, she’s been working as a television, theatre and film director and is a published author. She has been honored with international awards and distinctions at film festivals around the world.
She has worked as an AD to Pandelis Voulgaris ("The Brides", Alco Film, CL Productions, Martin Scorsese, John Madden ("Captain Corelli’s mandolin"J. Madden, Corelli Films Ltd), etc and in tv commercials "Peace"-for the ministry of Culture- Olympics 2004 (Koutsomitis-Birsim, Profit productions) and "Mac Donald’s" (director David Cornell).
Maria has directed theatre plays in Athens (‘’Musicland’’ etc.) and several video clips (Traffic productions) and has taught Drama at St Lawrence College.
She is a member of SEE (Greek Directors Guild), WIFT (Women in Film and Television), HellasDoc (Greek Documentary association)
Maria is the author of two published novels ‘’Locked Words ‘’ which is translated english and the ‘’The forest of hope’’ and has worked as an editor in ‘’Voyager’’.
Her latest work is the doc ‘’Nicholas and Maria’’ for ERT (National Greek Television) and has directed 12 documentaries of the docu-series ‘’Notebooks’’ (ERT-2018 ) and is currently working on her first feature film screenplay.
