KOSTOPOULOS ALEXANDROS
() DIRECTORAlexandros Kostopoulos was born in Athens. He studied Filmmaking at Stavrakos Cinema & TV School. He also studied Economics, Business Administration and Computer Science at University of Piraeus, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Athens University of Economics and Business.
His short film “First Swim” (2021) participated in several international film festivals (In The Palace FF, Trieste FF, Foyle FF, Athens IFF, Olympia IFF, etc.), receiving several awards.
He filmed the TV documentaries “Touching the Intangible” (2022) and “Speed of Light” (2020), screened and produced by ERT SA (Greek public broadcaster).
His animated short film “Zebra’s island” is produced by the Greek Film Center and the Greek Broadcaster. The project was selected by the Mediterranean Film Institute workshop, In the Palace – Filmer Forge Pitch, Drama Pitching Talent Lab, Olympia “Creative Ideas” and Mecal IFF Animation Pitch.
He has written a feature film script, called “Inertia”, one of the five feature film projects selected by the Budapest Debut Film Forum.
He has been awarded by the Scriptwriters’ Guild of Greece and Greek Directors’ Guild. He wrote and directed the theatrical play “The new adventures of Antigoni”, which participated in the Greek Student Theatrical and Ancient Theater Festival (special mention).
He works as a director and editor in Cinema and TV. He collaborates with Olympia International Film Festival as a tutor for the Film Workshop “From Comic Books, to Directing”.
