Michael Seibel was born in Germany and lives the last 26 years in Greece.
He studied music and theatre (Saarland University - Hochschule für Musik und Theater des Saarlandes).
He holds an MA of Arts in Theatre and Opera Directing from Middlesex University London.
He also holds a PhD from the University of Hildesheim, Germany. (Department of Cultural Studies & Aesthetic Communication – Institute for Media, Theatre and Popular Culture)
Professional work as stage director:
He directed theatre and opera productions in Germany and Greece and was been awarded international theatre prizes for best direction and best performance.
He was artistic director of theatre companies, theatre programs and festivals in Germany.
From 2015-2018 he was artistic director of the Int. Opera Studio
of the Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre.
Research:
He researches especially in the fields of acting and voice training and
publishes in recognized professional journals.
He is a recommended lecturer at universities and conferences all over the world (e.g. University of Hamburg, Democritus University of Thrace, Penn State University).
Since 1996 he teaches Acting and Voice in drama schools, workshops and masterclasses all over the world.
