BLICHAS CHRISTOS

(2004) DIRECTOR

Christos Blichas was born in Thessaloniki on March 27, 2004. He is a film director, producer, and screenwriter. He attended classes at the “NEFELES” Theatre Workshop in Thessaloniki (2018–2021), where he participated in three theatrical productions.

He studied at the Experimental Vocational Training School (S.A.E.K.) in Thermi, Thessaloniki, specializing in the “Art of Directing” department. He completed his studies with a six-month internship at ERT3, working as an assistant director.

He has worked at TV100 in Thessaloniki as a camera operator during two separate periods, contributing to news programs as well as large-scale television productions. To date, he has directed and produced three short films, two of which he also wrote. His films have been submitted to international film festivals, receiving multiple official selections, distinctions, and awards.

His directorial identity is rooted in the realism of the story and the choices the characters make within it. He seeks to enable viewers, even when watching a familiar story, to experience it through the personal perspective of the character. For him, filmmaking is something “sacred.” In his stories, he consistently seeks to incorporate elements that express his Orthodox Christian faith, even through subtle references, as it forms an integral part of his own understanding of realism. However, the characters in his films are always free to make their own choices.

He continues to develop new film projects, both short and feature-length, approaching each one with passion, technical expertise, and insight.
