PAPAGEORGIOU VIVIAN

She has a PhD in Cinema Studies and she works at the University of Athens. She has worked for many years at Secondary Education, she took part in several European Erasmus projects, she organized several cultural programs for schools and has created awarded short films with school students. Among others, she was in charge of the co-operation of the Music school of Alimos with the Greek National Opera for the project Animated Opera and created a short stop motion animation film with the students. She has also worked as an assistant director in several film productions and TV commercials.

She has created six short films mainly as a screenwriter / director, as well as producer, at some of them. On stage, she has directed the play Armchair by Lilia Kyritsi at the theatre Apo Koinou and the play Who has discovered America by Chryssa Spylioti at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus. She has bdirected the documentary “Little Ladies, Great Voices” for the TV show “The Great Tomorrow” that was broadcasted on National Greek TV ERT 2.

She is a Sarajevo Film Festival Talent Alumni (2016), her script Hansel was at the Pitch Lab of the same festival and the film premiered in October 2020 at ScreamFest, Los Angeles. In 2018, her script Lost & Found won the Greek Film Academy Award at the Short Film Fund Competition. The film premiered at Fantoche Animation Film Festival, Switzerland and was among the final nominations at the Hellenic Film Academy Awards Iris.

At the moment she is in development of her first feature documentary Delta.
